Product Description

This Dimethyl Formamide is a colourless liquid and has a molecular weight of approximately 73.09 gm per mole. The compound consists of a dimethyl group (C2H5) & a formamide group (HCONH) attached to a central nitrogen atom. It is produced by the reaction of dimethylamine with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst. It can also be synthesized through the reaction of dimethylamine with formic acid. Dimethyl Formamide has various industrial applications; it serves as a versatile solvent and is commonly used in organic synthesis, particularly in the production of pharmaceuticals, synthetic fibres, & dyes.
